Stamp TV has a card challenge by Cheri Weston:

I've got a different challenge for you this week and I'm calling it "Make it a Double" and here it is:
As stampers we have many stamps.  Sometimes we look at them as only focal image stamps or sentiment.  I'd like you to look at your stamps a bit differently for this challenge.  My challenge is for you to pick ONE stamp from your collection and use it first as a background stamp and then as the focal image. The only other stamp you're allowed to use is a sentiment stamp.

So here is my card for this week's challenge:

Have a great day and enjoy those hot summer days while we can...

Just got back from a fun weekend and wanted to give credit where credit it due... I received my CardMaker magazine in the mail a couple of weeks ago and on the cover was a card with quilled leaves on it.... so I just wanted to let everyone know this is where the idea came from, i just put my own spin on it :-)  Have a great week!

Cardz TV Design Team Challenge #12 "Anything Goes!"

Happy Friday everyone!  It’s cooler here today so the card I’m entering into Mary’s card challenge is a fall card, with quilled leaves.  It makes me think of those beautiful trees changing colors and frosty mornings.  Well I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend, we are headed to the beach to play and I will be back Monday.  Oh as usual my ipone is my main camera right now… gotta change that so sorry for the less than beautiful picture quality lol J

Hi everyone~  I wanted to share a card with you that is great for sending the “great  vacation shots” off to friends or family (I know grandma & grandpa would love this)! This incorporates the picture with the card along with a protective sleeve so that the picture doesn’t get scratched in transit.

Creative Memories tools are pictured below.  They are:
·         12x12 mat and blades from the custom cutting system along with the smallest oval,
·         border maker system,
·         tape runner,
·         Precision point adhesive pen,
·         two pens (green and brown),
·         and the Cricut cartridge “Traveler”
·         cardstock in brown, green, cloud, deep blue, and royal blue. (The bright carnival blue came from Gina k. designs paper J
·         Oh I also used a little of the Tim Holtz distress ink in Broken China for the back row of waves.
·         Creative Memories has transparent memorabilia pockets that you can use to preserve the photo in transit.  Today I used a “transparent archival bag” from Recollections.

In pictures here's how it went together:

I left room on bottom left hand side for a sentiment and didn't go crazy with inking around edges so this card could be put together quickly.  Hope you enjoyed a little beachy summer card and look back in a couple of days for the 12x12 scrapbook layout!   I will try to make a video soon and start adding those to my blog too :-)  Until then have a wonderful sun-shinny day.  Laura
